Dean's Research Fellowship

The Duke University Summer Session will support three annual fellowships through the Trinity College Deans' Summer Research Fellowship competition.

Summer Session makes these fellowships available to highlight and strengthen opportunities for Trinity undergraduates to engage in research projects on the Durham campus during the summer. Specifically, Summer Session-sponsored Deans' Fellowships will be awarded to students who will be enrolled in one or two courses in a single summer term and engaged in research during the alternate term.

One Summer Session Fellowship will be awarded for a research project in each academic division - humanities, natural sciences and social sciences.  Priority will be given to students whose projects will serve as a foundation for a senior distinction project in their majors. The research project must be conducted on the Durham campus under the guidance of a Duke faculty member.

Interested students should apply for a Deans' Summer Research Fellowship.  In their applications, they should specify (1) in which summer term they will be enrolled, (2) which course or courses they will take during that term, (3) the beginning and ending dates of their planned research project which must not overlap with the term of enrollment and (4) where on campus their research will be conducted. All applicants will be considered for funding through the Deans' Summer Research Fellowship program.

Information and applications for the Deans' Summer Research Fellowship may be found at http://www.aas.duke.edu/trinity/research/deansmr/. The application deadline for this summer is Wednesday, March 7, 2008.
